The Doctors Company is currently seeking a Manager Marketing Data & Analytics for our Marketing Department in our office in Napa, California.

Position Summary:
As Manager Marketing Data & Analytics, you will work under minimal supervision by Director Marketing Research, position is responsible for managing all market data analysis and reporting systems and activities for the enhancement of market insights, demand generation campaigns, and retention analytics. Technical liaison with departments to evolve marketing data management strategy; integrate cross-department data systems, procedures and structures; and ensure marketing programs are successfully understood and implemented. Contacts are senior executives, middle management, cross-functional peers, sales agents, consultants and data system and tool vendors.

Responsibilities/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Finance, Marketing, MIS required.
  • MBA with MIS concentration preferred.
  • Eight (8) years' experience with marketing data analytics.
  • Five (5) years' experience with Marketing Research surveys.
  • Six (6) years' Marketing Information Systems Management. Five (5) years' Property & Casualty insurance experience. Three (3) years' CRM experience.
  • Manages the data needs of the Marketing Research function by providing data-driven analytical insights into our customers, markets and core business. Methods may include:
    a. Establishing yearly corporate and regional marketing data plans; executing said plans to identify detailed competitive positioning and actions, business threats, target opportunities, etc.
    b. Gathering, analyzing and reporting primary and secondary market data on topics including products, market share, statutory filings, doctor demographics and buying trends, TDC surveys, industry trends.
    c. Analyzing market dynamics and competitive conditions; participating in related company-wide team meetings and presenting findings and recommendations.
    d. Establishing and managing system for measuring effectiveness of Marketing activities; identifying opportunities for inter-Department systems integration for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
    e. Devise methods and procedures for marketing data management, systems, and reporting. Audience groups to include prospects, members, agents, market segments on a project basis.
    f. Create centralized location for this data, to be shared across organization.
    g. Identify and leverage data, data systems and processes of other departments to enhance marketing data analytics value vis-a-vis effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Key role in ongoing definition of optimal direct marketing plan, with the goal of maximizing commission-free revenue for TDC via the Member Direct. Key elements include:
    a. Balancing national goals with specified geographic and product constraints to produce optimal targeting; conduct cost/benefit analysis of targeting.
    b. Generating lead lists for mail and/or e-mail campaigns that maximize cost/benefit analysis findings-to maximize potential revenue while reducing wasted resources
    c. Maintaining coded inventory of mailings to support response tracking.
    d. Designing report tools to monitor and evaluate sales and marketing performance; monthly and on-demand reporting of results for department.
  • Supports the research needs of other business units as required by executive management with:
    a. Delivery and presentation of research findings
    b. Competitive market share reporting
    c. Maintenance of the AMA database and supporting reports and tools (NOVA)
    d. Point-person on partner and media data requests
    e. Presentations for the Chairman, senior executives and the Board of Governors
    f. Work and related research on The Tribute Plan
    g. Ad-hoc analysis
  • Customize computer systems, tools and applications to improve department efficiency and effectiveness
    a. Marketing point person for reporting and data requests
    b. Dept SME for all Marketing Dept platforms/systems
    c. NOVA data CME
    d. Cross-departmental liaison on technical issues
  • Manages custom survey platform integration with Salesforce
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and under deadline pressures
  • Proficiency in wide range of Web platforms, tools and analytical business software, including but not limited to: MS Word (business correspondence; MS Excel (complex spreadsheets MS Access (queries, forms, reports and macros); MS PowerPoint ( presentations); ArcGIS or MapInfo (computer mapping); SNL or Highline Data (financial reports); Business Objects (data mining); Salesforce administration; Web survey platform such as Qualtrics; Data system tools such as CRMFusion, DupeBlocker; Social media platforms and measurement/reporting products; Mail Chimp; Who's calling; Survey data analysis tools.
  • Conceptual understanding of Internet technology, architecture and tools (Understanding of HTML and JavaScript).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
