BR&T, the central R&D organization of The Boeing Company, invites applications for a research position in mathematics and computer science. We are interested in those experienced in aerospace systems modeling and software development with emphasis on simulation and visualization of diverse information sets using diverse system architectures.

Specific areas of need are in model driven engineering, modeling and simulation of aircraft/spacecraft hydraulic, electrical power and environmental control subsystems, hardware in the loop simulations and verification and validation methodologies.

Qualifications

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:
  • Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

 
The candidate should be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues of diverse technical backgrounds, support development of new proposals for new business, interface with internal and external customers, keep abreast of new technical advances, and build and maintain a network of contacts and collaborators both inside and outside the company. This is a position with the BR&T Support and Analytics organization, a leader in advanced applied research of analytics and simulation technology.

Familiarity with real time/near real-time simulation and co-simulation packages and development approaches is required.

Familiarity with aerospace systems (e.g. Arinc standards), modeling (e.g. System Architecture Virtual Integration - SAVI) and simulation interface standards (e.g. Functional Mockup Interface - FMI) is also desired.
